Whakatane, Gisborne & Rere

Whakatane has a lot of Māori history, specifically the statue of Wairaka and Muriwai's Cave. After leaving Whakatane, I finally managed to have a go at the Rere rockslides - ridiculously good fun! The next day, we watched the sunrise at Gisborne - the first city in the world to see the new sunrise., followed by a eco reef and stingray tour.
